The Key Elements- Katharina, Kim & Zoe

Here are a list of elements we will have to include in our film opening in order to conform to the expectations of the indie genre, the audience we have chosen and what is expected of a film opening:

- An interesting and quirky series of titles introducing the actors, producers and name of the movie, perhaps in a cool font and colour.

- An unsual protagonist (young, female, quirky, in a strange situation)

- An unusual predicament (the loss of a close friend with whom she was in love with)

- Colour washes that reflect the mood in which the character is in, differentiating between the present and the past. This creates a certain mood and allows the audience to understand the feel of the story further.

- Cool, trendy clothing which depicts the characters as stylish and quirky, appealing to the audience choice.

- Alternative music. Perhaps something dreamy and a little unusual, allowing the audience to come closer to the feelings that the protagonist is experiencing.

- Interesting camera angles and editing to create a new aspect on the actors.

- An unsual introduction to the story (no use of diegetic dialogue, just non-diegetic narration meant to be the thoughts of the protagonist as she explains her situation.)
